It’s National Cat Day!

If you failed to know by now, Kiki is our unofficial mascot (pictured right here!) and she can make us smile each individual single day. We’re bringing some mild hearted enjoyable to you now with cute cat photos and a blog article showcasing Kiki through the years at KDJ.

Kiki’s adoption was whole happenstance! The 1st working day I achieved Kiki I was aiding out on the set of an independent film that was remaining shot in Downtown LA. Someone requested if I could give them a ride household and on the way again to Echo Park (a neighborhood on the east facet of LA) she requested me if I understood anybody who would want to adopt a cat. Developing up we generally experienced a cat… or two. As perfectly as fish, birds, rabbits — funnily sufficient we by no means experienced a dog! I appreciate animals and at that issue I had been residing in LA for about 5 decades. Currently being absent from all my relatives was tricky and I constantly required to have a cat but was on the fence due to the fact I would be her sole caretaker. 

When I dropped off the girl I was offering a journey to she explained to me to arrive in and see the kittens. I should really have acknowledged from that place that I was going to go dwelling with a cat, LOL. Kiki was born below a porch and the Mom had disappeared so my new buddy experienced taken in all the kittens so they would not be remaining to fend for by themselves. As soon as I noticed Kiki and her vibrant blue eyes I understood she was my woman.

She was very shy at first. Hiding under the sofa and mattress for times on close, only to appear out at night when there had been no terrifying appears aka persons chatting or new music heading. But our bond grew above time and I could not imagine existence without having her! She is the best furry pal and helps make me smile every single working day.

• Her first name was Emma (I was a obsessed with the Television clearly show, Good friends and it was Rachel & Ross’ identify for their daughter) but Kiki never responded to Emma so I modified her title, ha!
• Her favourite time to cuddle is anytime I place a soft blanket on my legs
• She loves sunbathing, just like her mom 🥰 (see below photograph!)
• She hardly ever utilized to be fascinated in cat toys until finally my Mother gave her some for Xmas this past year and now she’s obsessed!
